Greater Omaha Genealogical Society members are sponsoring this project. We’re extracting marriages from the microfilm at the W. Dale Clark library so that we can all find more ancestors. Many of our local members don’t have Omaha area ancestry, but they subscribe to the theory:
“Cast your bread upon the waters and it will come back buttered.”
If we do locally what others can not do for themselves, someone, somewhere, will do something that will help us…the end result is that we’ll all find more ancestors.
If you’d be willing to help type names, click on the link to the G.O.G.S. web site (www.GOGSmembers.wordpress.com) and send us an email to volunteer. If someone helps type the name reversals so that the bride’s name is first, for example, it allows others to extract names. Since there’s 200+ reels of marrige microfilms, there’s a long ways to go to be caught up.
Happy ancestor hunting!
